Curtain tracks and rails are supplied in range of different materials, designs and styles which makes them a very versatile product, providing a solution for a multitude of window situations, fitting applications and window fashions. Most are classed under two categories:
- Complete pre-packed sets in metal or plastic, in a range of different lengths
- Made to measure tracks in metal, corded, un-corded or electric motorized complete with all fittings.
Some come ready built with all the components in place so are easily fitted DIY by any one that is able to use general tools. Some that are designed for bay windows can even be bent by hand to fit the window exactly so you need not worry about the manufacturer making the rail to the right measurements and the bends to the right degrees.
Made-to-Measure Rails
Made-to-measure rails are made to exact length measurements, and bent exactly to the required angles. With the option to be cord operated from either the left or right and alternative wall or top fix brackets. With tracks available in anodized, powder coated and metallic finishes, they make a great alternative to poles, giving a minimal simplistic look and putting more emphasis on the curtains and interior details.
Electric tracks with timer units and remote controls are made to precise measurements; these types of tracks have many options so please contact us for a form on how to measure for either angled or electric track systems.
Made-to-measure tracks have to be very accurately measured especially if the windows they are to be fitted to are an irregular shape or size. It is best that the professional fitting the curtain rail measures the window dimensions so they are entirely accurate.
Curtain hooks and rings
Curtains are often attached to the rail in one of two ways, by curtain hooks or by curtain rings. Curtain hooks are small plastic devices that sit in specially made pockets at the top of your curtains and slide horizontally between two lips on the curtain rail. They are popular as a means to disguise the use of curtain rails.
Curtain rings are usually used when the curtain rail is a pole made of wood or metal and are plainly visible above the top of your curtains where they connect via tiny hooks. For this reason they along with the rail are often far more decorative than the more easily concealed curtain hooks.
